The Dhoad Gypsies from Rajasthan
The Dhoad Gypsies from the Thar desert in Rajasthan (north-western India ) create music of ecstasy, punctuated by gentle gestures of breathtaking tunes. The group consists of vocals, tabla, castanets, bhapang ("plucked drum"), morchiang (jews harps), harmonium, dholak (barrel drum), pungi (double flute), sarangi (box fiddle), a snake charmer and a dancer.
